THE GOOD STUFF;;
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:
Ra's al Ghul is a muscular man who appears to be in his thirties with jet black hair peppered with greying areas. His appearance sits well with those of the Egyptians he is related to, with handsome features, ice blue eyes and a relatively clean shaven face. Ra's facial hair is perhaps the most unusual feature he has, which appear to be a pair of handles on either side of his chin with no other facial hair, though on occasion he has grown a beard.
Ra's is most easily identified when he is in his fairly ornate cloak and formal outfit. Green and gold are the Demon Head's colors, so to speak; he is rarely seen at all, but even more rarely seen without his signature cloak with its high collar around his neck. Beneath these is a more modest black suit with large, airy sleeves leading in to a pair of black gloves, all with sparse gold thread woven in to it. Ra's is also well known for his swordsmanship, and often carries a bladed weapon of some sort on him, not needing the advanced technology around him to be a threat.
PERSONALITY: Ra's al Ghul is one of the most dangerous men to live during Earth's history. He is a mastermind the likes of which no other man has ever approached; cunning, calculating, and armed with the knowledge gained over a hundred lifetimes. Ra's is nothing short of brilliant, particularly in the realms of tactics and biology, but extending to the other realms of science as well.
Despite his desire to commit genocide against most humans, Ra's is a very calm, collected, polite and level-headed man. He knows where to strike, and he knows when to strike, and if he has to wait years for his opportunity he will. He is known to have a very good control of his faculties, even directly after being exposed to a Lazarus Pit, and rarely if ever loses his temper.
Ra's al Ghul believes heavily that the world has a natural order that humanity has thrown out of balance, now moreso than ever before. He believes that, while it is indeed tragic, that humanity's numbers need to be cut severely to bring balance to Earth's ecosystem. Who these people are makes no difference to the Demon's Head, but they must be removed. He believes that, in the end, this will be of the greatest benefit to Earth and her people, and is willing to do whatever it takes to bring the balance needed.
POWERS AND/OR ABILITIES:
Master Combatant: Ra's al Ghul has trained in every form of human combat imaginable, honed over hundreds of years to perfection. He is unmatched in his skill, capable of outmatching even the legendary Batman.
Enhanced Physical Traits: Ra's al Ghul's many years of exposure to the Lazarus Pits have enhanced his body to greater than human levels. He is faster, stronger, more durable, more agile and all around better than an average human, though not to the level of super heroes. Combined with his skills, he is extremely dangerous in combat.
Lazarus Fires: Generations of exposure to the Lazarus Pits have turned Ra's al Ghul's own blood in to the same fires that have brought him back to life countless times. He only needs to transfer his blood to one of many perfect clones of himself to revive now.
Genius Intellect: Always having been of a scientific mindset, Ra's al Ghul has had centuries to hone his mind and gain knowledge. While he might not be entirely up to date, Ra's al Ghul is well versed in the ways that the world, and indeed many scientific devices, work-- even if just in theory. Preparing for a weakness, exploiting faults, modifying viruses, and making use of advanced technology are all things Ra's has used in the past.
WEAKNESSES:
Only Human: While Ra's is enhanced for a human, he is still only a human. He is much less durable than most super heroes, and just as vulnerable to bullets and sharp pointy things as any human.
You Are Not Worthy: Ra's has something of an ego problem that sometimes gets in the way of himself. He has a tendency to underestimate his opponents-- usually justified-- a bit more than their actual skills lie. On many occasions, his underestimating of his opponents have had disastrous results for him. While he is very careful not to underestimate his foes, he still falls prey to it more often than he would like.
Exposed: In the past few years, Ra's al Ghul's network of resources has steadily dwindled to nothing. With his exposure after his last failure, he has lost the ever important secrecy that he has used as his primary weapon for centuries.
A lack of resources: Without his vast network of resources, Ra's al Ghul's influence is heavily limited. His ability to engineer his previous grand schemes is severely limited, and he no longer has the resources to hide behind puppets and tweak world governments from behind the scenes. However, it's only a matter of time before he recovers...
GOALS: Escape from prison
HISTORY: There is little known about the early years of the man who would later become Ra's al Ghul. Ra's was initially a nameless orphan living in a nomadic tribe in the Middle East. From a young age he had been interested in science, but living in a nomadic tribe left him unable to pursue his quest for knowledge. In his teens, he left his tribe for a city they had passed by. Through his hard work, Ra's becomes a physician and marries a woman named Sora, who he loved dearly.
It was in this time period that Ra's discovered the Lazarus Pits. His first use of it was to revive a dying prince brought to him for medical treatment. The Lazarus Pit healed the prince, but drove the already unstable man insane; he murdered Sora and Ra's al Ghul was accused by the prince's father of causing his son's insanity. From here, Ra's al Ghul vanishes from history, and the family of royals immediately fall prey to a then-unknown disease. According to Ra's al Ghul, this is the time when he begun traveling the world and learning the skills that he has perfected today. He resurfaced briefly in a few areas of the world, where Ra's discovered more Lazarus Pits.
He becomes insanely wealthy during this time and creates an organization that would later become known as the League of Shadows. It was this time when he took the name Ra's al Ghul, and since then he has silently antagonized the world from behind the scenes. Destabilizing economies, provoking wars, assassinations, introducing diseases, and other such villainous acts from the blackest corners of the times. He was also recorded dead on four separate occasions during the epidemic of the Black Plague. He was never caught or prosecuted for his crimes, though several of the League of Assassins were.
Ra's al Ghul's most well known plots are those that have been foiled by the Batman; they are also the ones that have failed, which is arguably why they are known about. Batman is arguably the only person Ra's has respected fully, referring to him as "the Detective" despite deducing fairly easily who his alter-ego was. Ra's al Ghul and Batman clashed numerous times during the super hero's career, but Ra's again faded in to obscurity after the caped crusader's death.
Fast forward to now, and the latest failure of Ra's al Ghul. Taking the identity of Leland McCauley, an up-and-coming industrialist, mere days before his election to President of the United Planets. The transition was seamless. And Ra's had a plan. He made the Legion, absent at the time of his election, criminals and put out warrants for their arrest while he worked on a plan to spur human evolution. And, of course, remove a few million people from the planet. He would destroy the moon.
Unfortunately, he was tricked by Computo, who was hoping to spur the evolution of machines. The moon was destroyed, now replaced by Legion World, and Ra's al Ghul captured and imprisoned while Computo died. Now, Ra's al Ghul is held in a cell on Legion World. He sits quietly, plotting his escape even now, even with his secrecy destroyed and his resource network vaporized. It's only a matter of time before the Demon's Head gets back on his feet, and begins the cycle all over again...
THE NITTY-GRITTY;;
SCREENNAME: Vee
Time spent roleplaying: 5ever
Other Characters: None
RP Sample: Ra's al Ghul sat silently in his confinement chamber, legs crossed and hands on his knees. Meditation, deep thought, call it what you would. He already had his plan to escape his new prison. All the intricate hallways and annals of Legion World were clear in his mind. It was all a matter of time. And time... Well. Time and the Demon's Head were the best of friends.
"I don't suppose you could be less subtle if you tried, could you?" Ra's al Ghul asked aloud, not needing to see to know he was being watched. And not just by cameras; there was someone in there with him. "Cast adrift in the seas of time with no way home... trapped in a world that is yours and isn't. And you have come to me for answers..." Ra's al Ghul's eyes opened at the same moment the door in the distance did. The soft humming of the cube of energy did nothing to silence the sound of footsteps as they came down the hallway outside. Nothing to disguise the too-heavy, too-light gait of his visitor.
"When you return to your time... give the Detective my best wishes."
