THE GOOD STUFF;;
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:
Validus is a goliath, to say the least. He stands at around twelve feet at full height. However, he usually is hunched over in an ape-like posture, so this is not often seen. He has giant muscles, and is quite stocky. He has no eyes, and no hair, instead he seemingly has a glass window on his forehead that extends along his cranium, making what may be his brain visible. He has a giant, gaping mouth that usually hangs open, with a slack jaw. His teeth appear omnivorous, and similar to human anatomy, save for the fact that they are giant. It's not uncommon to see strings of drool between his lips or dripping unceremoniously to his feet.
It's hard to determine whether Validus wears clothing or not. There are no signs of seams or hems or any way to get in or out of clothing, yet he appears to wear shoes, and has a spandex-clad sheen to him. With purple streaks running down each side of his torso, a black boxer-like middle, and purple legs/shoes, it's truly a hard thing to think about. Hence, why most people don't. Validus has two giant tubes running from his shoulders to his back, silver in color. There are also silver band-like accents on his arms.
PERSONALITY:
Validus, mentally, could be considered a primitive being. He has an extremely one-track mind, and literally cannot multitask. He has shown the ability to understand interlac commands, yet cannot speak or write to communicate any of his own thoughts. His vocabulary being severely limited to roars, grunts, and the occasional 'Auuu'. Perhaps, because he does not have any real way to think. He runs on synapses and impulses, not really having the capability to do much else.
Validus is very easily angered, and can fly into a highly destructive fit of rage from the slightest frustration. Determined to level and obliterate anything he can get his hands on. At the same time, he is very easily spooked as well. Though this has become increasingly hard to do, as he becomes more brazen. It can also backfire terribly, as his instinct has begun to morph from cowering and fainting in the face of terror, to roaring and swinging his fist at it.
Validus is incredibly loyal to the Fatal Five. Firstly, because Tharok can control him to an extent, by some sort of unknown technology integrated into his system. Also, they could be considered family, in a sense. They are the only people to really want him around and care for him. So, Validus listens to them. Simple as that.
POWERS AND/OR ABILITIES:
Incredible Strength
Because of his stature, Validus is ridiculously strong physically, able to lift tons and tons of weight. He could easily take on a Daxamite, and no prison seems to be able to hold him for long. He also has quite a hard swing, and a swat from him can certainly give some devastating injuries. This also gives him quite a bit of durability, and he can sustain quite a lot of heavy damage, often without a flinch.
Lightning Generation
Validus has lightning generation abilities, that he can direct through his fingers. The power is canonically equivalent to that of Spark's, and by extension, Garth and Mekt's. However, Validus doesn't have very good focus. His aim isn't very accurate at all, and often times he lacks the concentration to generate it or direct it in general towards his target.
Mind Control Immunity
Validus literally has no thoughts that can be manipulated, rendering him immune to any kind of mind control. "When trying to invade his mind, Saturn Girl described it as a big angry head full of nothing." (Legion of Superheroes 78)
WEAKNESSES:
Low IQ
Validus acts as the pure brawn of the fatal five, and is certainly not the brains. He cannot form competent thoughts, or think for himself. He is unable to communicate with others, despite having an understanding of interlac. He simply obeys the commands he is given by the fatal five. In fact, he is heavily dependent upon them. He is completely lost without them, and they in turn are the only ones able to keep him in check. Separated from them, Validus is even more ruthless, and will inevitably cause all sorts of unneeded damage to all of his surroundings. He is easily confused, and acts purely upon instinct.
Mobility
Validus is nothing short of a behemoth. Therefore, he is clunky, and rather slow. His weight holds him back, and his swinging, though powerful and having a large range, can easily be avoided with quick reflexes.
Lack of Stealth
Because of his size, Validus isn't exactly sneaky. His footsteps are loud, and he cannot fit into quite a lot of spaces. His breathing is heavy, and he will often make noise simply because he does not know better. Also, while he knows how to follow demands, he won't always execute them in the desired way. Often making himself obtrusive, and becoming a detriment to the entire operation. In most cases, the fatal five leave him a small bit away from the place they choose to infiltrate, so that they can keep the element of surprise.
Telepathic Implantation
While Validus is has no thoughts that can be exploited, he can certainly have thing put into his mind. He is vulnerable to illusions and telepathic suggestions. Given his animalistic being, this is a very effective thing to take advantage of.
GOALS: To crush anything that stands in the way of the Fatal Five. Literally.
HISTORY:
Validus has a rather spotty history, regarding his origins. The Legion had found intelligence suggesting that he was created on the planet Pasnic as a weapon against sun eaters. However, he had almost instantly gone rogue, and the trouble he caused instantly classified him as a threat. He was placed, and moved to a lot of prisons, each of which he seemed able to break out of. This was an endless recurrence, until Spark and Saturn Girl apprehended him, and employed him against the Sun Eater. Which, turned out to be a hoax. An elaborate plan put together by Cosmic Boy in order to expose president Chu as the creator of the Titan-Braal wars. (The fatal five having the job to "arm a warhead" at Titan.) Validus, along with the rest of the fatal five sans Tharok, effectively dropped off all radar after their part was played.
Until he resurfaced again with the fatal five, about a year or two later. He played a key part in freeing Tharok from his prison transfer, by defeating the Legion escorts responsible for him. Pummeling Timber Wolf effectively, and fending off other Legion Escorts with his strength. With the Fatal Five fully reformed, they escaped, and are now lurking, plotting in secret. Waiting for an opportunity that they can use to their advantages.

"Auuu..."
Validus pawed at the ground, whining a bit in his boredom. He had been sitting in this corner for hours with nothing to do. While he was usually content with nothing, this was beginning to be too much, even for him. Jaw hanging slack as usual, a glob of drool dribbled out of his teeth, creating a small puddle before him. Mind blank, as it always was, yet at the same time, itching to do something. Motivation without purpose.
The question, of course, being for what. Punching a hole through the wall? Bumbling off in search of the other members of the Fatal Five? They were certainly around, he knew. They told him they would be. They told him to stay put, and he did.
Time went on, and on, in it's lethargic lull. Nothing happening. Nothing occurring. Nothing being thought of. It was hard for Validus to become bored, really. He didn't have much comprehension of the idea. If he could move around a bit, he could usually keep himself entertained. There was always the option of smashing something. It was his nature. But of course, there was always the other option, which Validus soon took to, lowering himself to the ground, and curling slightly. His breathing slowing, but bubbling slightly, as the drool began to flow more. Chest heaving, but in a sort of calm way. It was the closest way anyone could tell if Validus was asleep or not. It's always hard, when the being in question had no eyes.
But he was being good. He was listening to his teammates. He was staying. Just like he was supposed to.
