Thaddeus "Thad" Thawne
Waiting as I'm wanting to
Speaking as I'm spoken to
Changing to your point of view
Fading as I follow you
A boyish notion of false emotion
These words are spoken despite my love
A fool's devotion was set in motion
My eyes are open now
It's a glass cage so I can't pretend
You hide beneath the physical
I see it coming
But I can't defend
You cut so deep
My belief is gone
Speaking as I'm spoken to
Changing to your point of view
Fading as I follow you
A boyish notion of false emotion
These words are spoken despite my love
A fool's devotion was set in motion
My eyes are open now
It's a glass cage so I can't pretend
You hide beneath the physical
I see it coming
But I can't defend
You cut so deep
My belief is gone
"He's...He's proud of me...Proud...of me...I've...I've never felt that before..."

THE GOOD STUFF;;
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:
Lean, lanky, large of feet and long of leg. Thad, like his genetic original, was practically built for running. Though normally his pallor is a pretty unhealthy, and pasty looking, shade of pale (due to having never seen sun light until very recently in his life) he did manage to develop a more healthy looking tan while masquerading as Bart. Due to his short stature (standing at a whole of 5’2”), large expressive eyes, and soft, rounded facial features, he can look deceptively childlike, but often the illusion is broken by the placid look he wears, or a sharp analytical glare that can make his bright golden eyes, look pale and cold. He’s not above using a well practiced act of insipid innocence, if it’s to his advantage, but more often than not, his true fridge demeanor is made quite obvious. Even in casual situations his posture is often tense and defensive, or closed off, and he keeps a wide area of personal space. The only times in which he is truly relaxed, is when he is alone with Craydl.
Unlike most speedsters (of whom, with the exception of Max Mercury, even the more "mellow" ones tend to be overly energetic), he's calm and reserved with the majority of his movements. Making those moments where he finally does decide to move at what is a more normal pace for speedsters, all the more jarring to witness. Even when he's in battle, he only moves as much as he feels is necessary; taking those short precious secants or minutes of being still, to think things through, and plot out what needs to be done. Except when he moves to go in for an attack. When Thad goes on the offense, he for once, truly lets loose. He's swift, and viscous; easily getting caught up in the adrenalin rush, and the satisfaction that comes from the violence, and moving at high speeds. He can have a hard time holding back, even when he means to.
Currently his hair is dyed brown and is cut to just above his shoulders (to his chagrin, it remains just as untamable and fluffy as his genetic originals), but normally it's blond, and kept meticulously trimmed short, despite how fast it tries to grow out. It likely will not take much time for him to, at the very least, cut the length of it.
When it comes to wearing civilian clothing, and he has the option of wearing something presentable, he has a tendency to be pretty neat about his appearance. Though he's not particularly concerned about the way he looks, his preferences in attire still tends to lean more towards clothing that is simple in design and practical; anything that is comfortable, and can be easily moved in. Unfortunately, Thad would not be very good at blending in with any civilians in the thirty-first century. Though a native to this century, he was never allowed to be apart of it. He owns no proper civilian attire, and knows nothing of their fashion habits, so even if he does manage to get his hands on proper clothing, he's very likely to stick out like a sore thumb.
...
PERSONALITY: (Does your character have a default mood? Are they nearly unflappable, or do they have a short fuse? What causes them to flip between the extremes of their personality, if anything?)
POWERS AND/OR ABILITIES:
• Connection to the Speed Force: Thad is capable of moving, thinking, and reacting, at super-speed, and he can run at nearly the speed of light if he really pushes himself (though it’s not recommended and running faster than that would push him in to the speed force). He is surrounded by an invisible aura to protect him from the more deadly aspects of simple physics, like friction, and his body has been altered to handle the rigors of moving so quickly. His metabolism has also been altered so that he can heal quickly, but not always accurately. Most, but not all, poisons and illnesses will get burned up in his system before they have much effect. Unfortunately it also means he needs a large intake of calories, and has to eat a lot, and often, to keep himself from becoming fatigued, starving, or passing out.
• Molecular Vibration: He's able to control his body on a molecular level, allowing him to vibrate his molecules so he can pass through solid objects. He can also control the molecules of anything he touches, making them pass through things as long as he touches it, or even make the objects molecules vibrate on opposing speeds and cause it to blow up. But if done wrong, this is something that could easily end in disaster for him, and everyone around him.
...
WEAKNESSES:
• Metabolism: As was said before, he needs a large amount of calories to function properly. For most people, they can survive up to a month without proper nourishment; but for Thad (depending on just how often he’s using his abilities, and how much energy he’s burning up) being cut off from a proper food source for even a few days, can turn out to be fatal. This also means, he can need quite a bit of sleep, especially when he doesn’t have a proper food source. Unfortunately his current position has left him with no place to safely sleep, and no steady food supply. Thus he’s been forced to scrounge for food, and is using his abilities as sparingly as he can afford to.
• Healing factor issues: Though his metabolism can help heal him at a faster rate, the healing proses is no different from how it is with anyone else. In other words, if he losses a limb, it isn't going to grow back, and any sever injury is not going to magically fix it's self. It will merely heal over. So at times, the healing proses can actually be something of a detriment when it comes to more sever wounds. If anything were to become lodged in him, it could be hard or impossible to remove, if he is unable to phase it out of his body. A broken limb can heal wrong if not put back in place before the break mends. And medication will not work on him well, or for very long, if at all.
• A need for friction: Thad's super-speed isn't much good on a frictionless area. It's harder for him to get moving if his feet don't have a solid enough grip on the ground, and if he does get moving, he can shoot off like rocket, and have no way of stopping himself short of slamming in to something.
• Brainwashing: Though he may realize now that he was only being used by Thawne, and is finding out that he was lied to about his family’s history, Thad is by no means unaffected by the years of brainwashing he was subjected to. Mentally and emotionally he’s far from stable. He can still experience triggered responses to certain stimuli; such as being aggressively defensive of the Thawnes, despite his own growing hated for them, or feeling an irrational, overwhelming fear, when doing something he was trained not to. When it comes to his creator in particular, when or if he manages to meet him face to face, he'll find it very hard to actually harm him, and impossible to cause him any lethal harm. In fact, Thawne, has a kind of sway over him that Thad is at this point unaware of. Any direct command Thawne gives would be hard for him to ignore, and if he does, he will become more irrationally frightened the longer he ignores it or goes against it.
• Lack of Social Skills: He can read people well enough, and can put on a good act, but Thad only understands people on a very base level. He honestly does not understand more complex emotions, especially those connected to social contact, and pack mentality. He easily gets swept up or confused by them when he experiences them for himself, and does not know how to react to them when they come from others. He’ll often simply close himself off from others as much as he can. He can hold a very base connection with someone, with little or no real emotions of attachments connected to it, and can come off as cordial, friendly, or even funny (usually sticking with darker humor). But as soon as emotions start to enter in to the equation, he’ll usually start to push away more, eventually turning bitter or hostile if they refuse to back off. He does not really trust anyone, keeping all information close to his chest, and often refusing help from anyone willing to offer. The more a person tries to get close to him, the more desperately he attempts to shove them away, not wanting to repeat his experience with Max and Helen, and not wanting to risk them turning on him.
• Morality: As thin as they may be, Thad has his morals. Though trained to be a killer, he was raised to believe his ancestors were heroes. He was never led to believe that was what he was meant for, but he looked up to them all the same, and took the beliefs and morals that he was told they possessed, to heart. This has only been compounded by the month he spent living with Max and Helen (his genetic originals adoptive family), in the guise of Bart, playing the role of a hero. Though he can be ruthless, even out right sadistic toward those he sees as the enemy, he will go out of his way to keep those he perceives as civilians out of harm.
• Distaste for physical contact: In particular affectionate contact, but really, any kind of physical contact will erk him. If he likes the person, or at least tolerates them enough, he may allow for it occasionally, but not without flinching, unconsciously leaning away, or shortly after, moving away from it all together. If he dislikes them, or is even just ambivalent toward them, good luck getting your hands on him, unless they can move as fast as he can, or they're making some kind of sneak attack. He'll move away from it, or try to vibrate his molecules so they can't get a grip on him. The distaste, and borderline fear of contact, doesn't necessarily come from fear of being hurt by it, but more from the knowledge of how easily he's swayed by it, and how quickly he can become attached to it. In a way, he craves affectionate contact; having experienced so little of it, and what few moments he's had with it have been pleasant, and comforting. But they also ended in him getting swept away by his own emotions, and the memories of such experiences now leave a bitter taste in his mouth, after coming to the realization that the affection displayed, was not really meant for him.
• Bart Allen: Just...Bart Allen. Thad has many, many issues anchored around Bart Allen. Too many to actually list. Talking about him for too long, or trying to compare Thad to him, is a good way to get punched in the face. But it is also a good way to get under his skin, to distract him, stress him out, make it harder for him to think rationally, or even just freak him out, depending on where the topic goes. He's attached to far too many of Thad's emotions, and the topic of him is practically a gaping wound that's all too easy to rub salt on, or shove a knife in to and twist it.
• Lack of knowledge of this time period: Aside from the technology and the scientific research of this time, Thad knows very little about the year 3000. Most of his knowledge is based around Bart Allen and the century he is in (though he does know of the Legion of Superheros, and the basics of their foundation, as well as their interactions with Bart). Thawne never wanted him to be able to survive in this century if he were to somehow escape, so what little he does know in very basic, or out dated. He knows little to nothing about the laws or social structure, has no working knowledge of any city layouts, or the currency of this time, and his historical records are severally lacking or completely forged.
GOALS:
To take revenge on his creator, and to learn as much about the truth of his family’s history as he can. As they always have been, his goals are rather narrow minded. He’s only ever had one goal in his entire existence. Now that he’s thrown it aside, it’s hard for him to think past what he’ll do after he accomplishes his rather simplistic, short term goals. In truth, he try’s rather hard not to think past these new goals. The idea of having no purpose past these aspirations, and nowhere to really go, fills him with uncertainty, and a panic that scrambles around his head, biting away at his more rational thought processes.
