So I managed to download every comic I could locate that had Lyle Norg in it, however briefly or minor a role, and have been reading through them. To prove to Poet I am indeed making progress, I figure to post some of my thoughts/reactions on the subject here.
For example, the other night I read several comics.
You had the one where five of the Legionnaires--Dream Girl, Element Lad, Brainy, Superman, and Mon-El, all get turned into toddlers by these people who really wanted to adopt kids. They got taken to an intergalactic orphanage, right? And when the first couple showed up, they were keen on Brainy, who was spelling out with blocks, "PLEASE ADOPT ME". But then Jan got jealous, wow, and turned the guy's hat into gold to get adopted instead, and Brainy wound up being the last one adopted. *facepalms* And Brainy's reaction was "FINALLY" and I'm just wondering OH MY GOD HE HAS TO FEEL HURT BY THAT, EVERYONE CHOOSING THE OTHER CHILDREN OVER HIM ASD;KJFA;SKDJF *beats head against wall*
Then you had the one where the writers decided to take a leaf out of The Most Dangerous Game and have this big game hunter go after the Legion. I'm vaguely amused that it was Lyle who 'won'. Though I'm starting to feel like Shrinking Violet can't get a break, lol. XD
One of the comics had a second story that didn't have Lyle at all, but made me laugh--it was the adult Legion, with the Legion of Supervillains wanting to take a hostage in order to lure the Legion into a deadly trap. You get three guesses as to who they take.
And then I got to what I think are my favourite issues so far--the two-part story of how Universo replaced the president, managed to mind-control the entire planet, and outlawed the Legionnaires. It was a cool story.
...also, I'm noticing a pattern of Brainy getting knocked out at inopportune moments. The same thing happened twice in New 52 comics. Brainy, my boy, you are the green-skinned male damsel-in-distress of the Legion.
(EDIT: Almost forgot to type up these quotes:
"So did you ever have trouble with Invisible Kid, Mrs. Norg?" "Well, he did have a way of disappearing when there were chores to be done!")
