“Miss Luthor, what do you think of the new ‘Legion of Superheroes’?”
Ah, that was the question she had been waiting this whole public interview for, and her smile grew slightly, pleased. Now to express it exactly the right way, the perfect amount of seriousness and playfulness, idealism and impact.
“I think the Legion of Superheroes is a wonderful idea,” she replied, making her words happy and light. “Kids like me, out there doing things like saving the world? It’s great! We can all make a difference, that way!” The words out of her mouth were ridiculous, but she forced herself to continue, showing no hint of the disgust she felt. “I half wish I could do something different, so I could try out!” That one was a clear joke, and she garnered a few laughs. Good.
“In fact, if anyone from the Legion is here or watching this…” She turned her gaze directly at the camera. “You have the full support of LuthorCorp behind you, and if you need my company and I for anything, let me know. You can even borrow my planet, if you want to!” That was met by another round of chuckles, and someone else raised their hand with a question.
Message across. And now, to be curious if they’d ever take her up on their offer… She didn’t want to, but she would support them, for the sake of appearances, any way she could. Of course, if they started gaining influence, well now, that was a whole ‘nother story… |
